The Big Easy (my live music night) is moving to a fantastic music venue in Shoreditch, East London - Bar Music Hall, and I've joined forces with the team behind Hoochinoo Braves - London's slickest Hip hoP promoters to bring you 'THE BIG EASY vs HOOCHINO live'.
We launch at the new venue on Friday (yes FRIDAY!) 24th February 2012 with two of the UK's finest live music acts
- DIRTBURG -Time Out: 'Like De La Soul partying with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers...'
and the almighty MR DISFIT - Gig Review: "the gig was OFF THE WALL, FRESH, UNIQUE going all the way to the TOP"

Joined by Mr GATS - funk and rare beat champion on the decks and The Vinyl Bitches of Eastwick - we aim to throw shapes til 3am to everything from DISCO, FUNK and SOUL to HipHOP, dubstep and Dance Classics!

YO! So we set the precedent at the last BIG EASY - absolutely smashed it - the bands were top, top top notch and the crowd reckless, and wonderful!

So chuffed the word has finally spread about my night Big Easy and the calibre and talent of the acts on are collectively gathering the most wonderful, appreciative crowd.

BRAPPPP! Word on the street we've managed to lure the awesome talent that is Scott McKeon to play live with his band at our next night THE BIG EASY, Thursday 2nd Sept!!!

A little introduction - Scott McKeon may be just twenty three but he has already given a lifetime of dedication to his craft as a guitarist, singer and songwriter. Initially inspired by his dad's love of blues and fifties rock n roll music he took up the guitar at the age of four. In 1998, Scott was the winner of Guitarist Magazine's "Young Guitarist of the Year" and by the age of fourteen, he was already fronting his own band.

At 18, a CD was passed onto Paul Crockford, Mark Knopfler's manager, who started representing Scott which culminated in the release of his debut album "Can't Take No More" an energetic and raw take on modern electric blues. To promote the album Scott toured extensively in the UK, Europe and US, sharing performance space with Eric Clapton at Hyde Park Calling in 2008, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter and Joe Bonamassa to name a few as well as playing the Montreal Jazz festival and making US TV appearances.

I am really chuffed to announce I was awarded 2nd place for my song 'GOOD OLD FASHIONED LOVE'; in the adult contemporary section of the UK SONG WRITING CONTEST 2010!

Pretty shocked it got that far as they have over 10,000 entrants this year!

WORD UP! Really excited to be running a Monthly residency every 1st Thursday of the month at the Queen of Hoxton in East london, topping the bill with the brilliant Juan Zelada and his band.

Each month brings both my band and Juan's band to the stage - performing one off showstopping sets and playing out new tracks plus Album and single release parties!

Also welcoming new, emerging talent to the stage to support and warm the crowd up for the night.

This is a platform for emerging talent on the music scene - real, raw music that just gets better with TIME!

DJs include Kris Sheasby and Tim Ross mixing up elclectic party anthems, dusty soul, new and old rare Funk and timeless classics.

Can't frickin wait! More details to be announced!

NEXT quota of gigs to be announced include unplugged performance at a fantastic venue South of the river called The Bedford in Balham. This is on Tuesday 27th April.

Camden Town's JAZZ CAFE will be the next stop on Friday 14th May for a night of mayhem! Joining the lineup of amazing musicians in the band will be SIMON CARTER on keys (Jamiroquai, Anastacia) and the fabulous Gospel singer Lloyd Wade leading the Backing vocalists (Take That, The Lloyd Brothers).

CaROLiNE JAY will be playing out live at the magnificent Bloomsbury Ballroom in Holburn London!

Fully completed lineup of CAROLINE JAYs band include...Ryan Haberfield on Guitar, Vinzenz bENjAMIN on Bass, Curtis Stansfield on Keys and Hammond, Matt Mcdonogh on Drums, Chris Marshall on percussion and Backing vocalists Lloyd Wade, Nicola and Zeta Cameron.

Between them they have toured, supported and played with the likes of Take That, Beyonce, The Bridge, Dave Holland, X-Factor Choir, IDMC Gospel Choir, Wishbone Ash, Shaznay Lewis, Tony Hadley, Mia Silvas to name a few.

Finally completed the recording! I have one day to edit together the last little bits and then its being mixed down and mastered! Woohoo! We finished the session in the live room at Fortress in true style on Friday at 2am then continued it upstairs in the Vestry bar...ouch. Managed to crawl home by 7am.
Feeling like I shouldn't be doing this anymore...drinking...not music!
The next mission now we have a product is to find the band! and publishing, distribution, management etc...but one step at a time!
So frickin over the moon that the album is nearly done!

London label Seventy Entertainment and Patchface productions have teamed up with me to start work on the new album! Booked in at Fortress Studios in East london we're lined up for 2nd Sept! So with a lot of work and a bit of luck the album will be finished and ready for your ears by the end of October 09. Can't friggin wait!

Finally the wheels are in motion and we're prepping all the new material for a slog in the studio starting 1st week of September 09! Im expecting blood, sweat and tears over the coming weeks!
